CLIC, Car Location Inventory Control, books were a part of introducing a computerized car inventory system to the railroad. They served the function of translating the location codes required by the computer to something the trainmen and car clerks could identify with. The first CLIC books were introduced as the computer system was brought online in the late 1970's and early 1980's, hence there is no such thing as a 1950's era CLIC book.
CLIC books are downloadable as PDF documents from the site.
