CLIC, Car Location Inventory Control, books were a part of introducing computerized car inventory system to the railroad and served the function of translating the location codes required by the computer to something the trainmen and car clerks could identify. The first CLIC books were introduced as the computer system was cut over in the late 70's and early 80's, hence there is no such thing as a 1950's era CLIC book.
