JUNCTION RECORDS


The Santa Fe Archives hold two Junction Record books covering different portions of the Santa Fe and different eras. The system pre-1935 Junction Record book is a letter size document with some oversize fold out pages. The system book in keeping with the purpose of the junction records tends to simplify complex areas by leaving out industrial and back tracks not related to the connections between lines or foreign railroads. The G.C.&S.F. 1913 book provides very elaborate drawings of in many cases the entire town and all tracks but it is a 14" x 20" book with some fold out pages so all pages are over size and have to be copied on a large format engineering copier. Since the originals are blue prints (white lines on blue paper) the pages on the site have been inverted and cleaned up and are now black line on white.
