Colorado Springs to Denver

Incorporated and charter issued in Colorado to the Denver & Santa Fe Railway Company, March 22nd, 1887. Sold to the Santa Fe January 19th, 1900.

Grading started in the spring of 1887. Track reached Colorado Springs, July 23rd, 1887. W.A. Grant, J.H. Hampson and several others were the contractors. (see list Pueblo to Colorado Springs) Track rached Denver, September 29th, 1887.

Same organization as noted Pueblo to Colorado Springs for the Railroad Company.

We built a new depot at Colorado Springs, 1916-17 of red brick, from Coffeyville. Chas. A. Fellows, Contractor. Estimated cost of new depot complete $180,000.00. Yard changes $17,000.00. M.A. Martin (formerly General Foreman, B.& B., A.T.& S.F.) was the inspector.

There is a "Y" at Palmer Lake, West of the Depot.
