Denver Circle Railroad Company.

Incorporated in Colorado under above name, November 1880. Sold June 1st, 1887, under foreclosure to the Denver and Santa Fe Railway Company. Operation closed March 25th, 1898 and old track taken up in 1898.

The tracks extend from Larimer Street and Cherry Creek to Clark Street (now inca), to Third Avenue, to South Twelfth (now Cherokee) to Bay and Logan and to Jewell and to University Park; also from Logan and Jewell to Loritta Heights. This track was laid at one time with the third rail to handle narrow guage cars. Larimer Street to Jewell Park, built in 1882-3. Taken possession of by the Santa Fe in 1887. Extended from Jewell Park toward Sheriden Heights during 1888.

There is at present about eleven hundred feet of the old Denver Circle R.R. on Bayaud Street near our South Denver Yard and about seven hundred feet from Jewell Avenue, near Overland Park. Still down.

THe A.T.& S.F. now owns the south 75-ft. of the east900-ft. of the SE/4 of the SE/4 of sec.21 and the south 40-ft. of the SW/4 of the SW/4 of Section 22, Township 4, South. Range 68-West. This lies just south of the Overland Park. All the balance of right of way ever owned by the Railway Company has been sold or has reverted to outsiders account of track being removed.
