
Old Blackwell station as located about one-half way between Morse and Lamar. On May 24, 1886, the depot and section house were moved on a flat car to present site of Lamar, moving being done on a Sunday, by Ed. Marshall, Road Master, under Mike Osborn, Supt. R.&B. C.M. Rathburn, Superintendent. The depot and facilities were built about the time the road was built. Depot moved account not being able to buy land for terminal at Blackwell.
Nelson & McLeod of Chicago, Illinois, built a brick veneer depot in the fall of 1906 and spring of 1907 at Lamar. The Company maintains a separate freight depot at this point.
The Las Animas brick veneer passenger depot was constructed by Blanchard Construction Company of Topeka, Kansas in 1907. M.A. Martin Inspector. We have a separate freight depot at this point. When the road was first constructed there was an east and west Las Animas. East Las Animas near the present site of Kellar and West Las Animas were Las animas now stands.
