Holliday to Olathe ö 14.105 Miles. Built under the name of the Kansas City & Olathe Railroad Company. Incorporated in Kansas June 18th, 1881. Consolidated July 16th, 1883, into the Southern Kansas Ry. Company. Sold to the Santa Fe. February 15th, 1899.

Grading started September 10th, 1881 by Hunt & Dotoy, Contractors, Kansas City
Mo..

Track laying started by H. P. Selden & Company, Kansas City, Missouri, January
11, 1882. M. W. Wambaugh, Engineer in charge, headquarters, Olathe Kansas relieved by J. M. Meade, Resident Engineer, Topeka. A.A. Robinson Chief Engineer. Topeka Line opened for business June 1st, 1882. Telegraph line built at same time. Double track Holliday to Olathe completed April 14th, 1906.

Holliday station was first called Waseca Junction, afterwards changed and named
in honor of the first President.

Snow station was first named Elizabeth after the wife of Superintendent Barns.
Changed on account of being too long for the telegraph department.

The section house built at Olathe in 1882 was remodeled and used as a depot until
a new brick depot was built in 1903.

When building the original track into Olathe in 1882 and also when building the second track in 1906 we ran into an old grave yard near the East entrance of the town and had the remains removed by an undertaker under the Direction of Mr. J. H. Snow, Engineer in Charge.
