
Major O. B. Gunn was the First Chief Engineer. Ran the preliminary lines between Atchison and Emporia, November 1865.
Mr. T. J. Peter was the next Chief Engineer, with Capt. John R. Ellinwood for Assistant. He was really the Active Chief Engineer and did all of the early location.
Mr. A. A. Robinson was the 3rd Chief Engineer. He began work April 1st, 1871, as Assistant Engineer. Was made Chief Engineer, April 1, 1873. Resigned May 3rd, 1893 to become President of the Mexican Central Railroad.
