Dear Sir;
We enclose herewith letter from the Commissioner of Indian Affairs, dated August 2d, giving us official information of the authority granted the Secretary for the Eastern Oklahoma Railway Company to survey and locate a line of lines of road in Oklahoma and the Indian Territory, upon the express provision that said company will, as early as practicable file a formal application therefor together with the papers required under the circular of April 18, 1899.
We have heretofore advised you of the granting of this permission, and inasmuch as the necessary formal application and required proof has been submitted, there would appear nothing further to be done, beyond the actual work of surveying and locating the road. It was the first case where such authority has been granted in advance of the filing of the necessary papers, and we are pleased that our efforts should have been so successful.
Yours truly,
(Signed) Britton & Gray.
