Opening of stations of the Eastern Oklahoma Ry.-
Mr. James Dun
C. E., Building.
Dear Sir:
Will you kindly advise me as early as possible of the approximate dates
on which stations on the Eastern Oklahoma Ry. Will be opened for business.
I understand that the line will be completed to Campbell 13-5/10 miles
form Guthrie December 12th, Iowa City 18-2/10 miles from Guthrie December
17th, and will probably reach Perkins 32 miles from Guthrie on December
31st, if not sooner.
My reason for asking for this information is that we are receiving numerous
inquiries for rates to points on that line, and the agent at Guthrie states
that freight for those points is rapidly accumulating at his station, making
it necessary to him to have information as to rates to be changed at the
earliest possible moment, so that he may immediately begin the reforwarding
of the freight as one or more of the stations are opened for business.
Ordinarily we do not receive advice of the opening of these new stations
until probably the day before they are opened for business. That does not
give us time to check in and publish our rates. This results in confusion,
necessitating agents wiring in for rates on the various shipments as they
are offered.
Your kind attention to the matter will be very much appreciated.
Yours truly,
(Sgd) F. C. Maegley.
