Santa Fe Diesel Locomotive Styling Diagram F3-A Passenger Units

From the SANTA FE MODELER third quarter 1991. The material below was retyped from the back of the card. Following that is a client side image map of the front of the card. By clicking on it's hot spots, you will get a much more detailed image of the section. The images are scanned at 400 dpi and range in size from 40,000 bytes for end views to 180,000 bytes for the left side of the engine. They will take from 30 second to several minutes to display depending on the speed of your modem and how busy the net is at the time.

22C 3/48	Notes:
23L 3/48	* Original units 16 through 21 were
23c 3/48	delivered with three portholes
24L 4/48	and in the long warbonnet paint
24C 4/48	scheme used on E-units (as illustrated
25L 4/48	here). Also, the lower side panels and
25C 4/48	the rear second row side panels were
26L 5/48	painted aluminum. Units 22 through
26C 5/48	36 were delivered in the shorter
27L 5/48	(standard) warbonnet style with two
27C 5/48	portholes as illustrated by the F-7A
28L 6/48	styling diagram. The side panels indicated
28C 6/48	above were stainless steel.
29L 6/48	Therefore, this styling diagram applies
29C 6/48	only to units 16 through 21 as
30L 9/48	delivered.
30C 9/48

Note: The drawing on this diagram is for painting and lettering use only. Significant mechanical differences are present (drawing is actually an F-3 as all Santa Fe F-7's had D/B fans)!

Aperture cards of original styling blueprints were donated to the

Santa Fe Modelers Organization by Electro-Motive Division, General

Motors Corporation.
