The Archives
Right: Miles Hale worked diligently to construct several of the interior walls.

Below: Jason Crupper pulled wire and cat5e. Adequate lighting was designed into the room to afford the researcher the best lighting possible.
Below: Stephen Lane Hottle (BNSF Engineer) unloaded lumber and sheetrock for the new archive walls.
Above: Stephen painted the plywood plan shelves in preparation to moving them into the archive.
Above: Stephen Hottle spent some meaningful time with the concrete floor scraping up all of our sheetrock mess.
Left: Mike (Cliff) Porter spent the afternoon installing can down lighting in the freshly painted soffits. This lighting can be dimmed allowing the researcher to customize the ambient light level. This is useful when viewing video, slides or images.
Left: After the sheetrock was placed the walls were textured and wiped down creating a professional finish.
Right: PRRP lead graphic artist Todd Gillette sprayed a coat of latex onto the freshly finished walls and ceiling.
Above: Stephen was working on backing up some of the hundreds of CD and DVDs that Russell had made over the years. PRRP has a 18TB server located in the studio above the archives.
Left: PRRP Illustrator Christy Halastik and Cinthia Priest load presorted drawings into their respective locations.
Right: Stephen Hottle and Stephen Priest spent the better part of a day hanging a new suspended ceiling. Notice all the wiring stapled to the ceiling.
Left: More file cabinets and shelving had been moved into the archives by the second week. The room is alarmed, temperature and humidity controlled.
Below: A view of one of the file holding areas. There are hundreds of of files present here.
Right: Stephen was working to set up some of the scanning equipment. A 44” large format full color scanner/copier/printer is on order and should be in the archive within the next few months. It will be capable of PDF workflow as well. We currently have a 36” full color HP printer/plotter in the archive.
