Dear Sir:
Complying with your suggestions, I have been on the look-out for competent men to fill my party, and have made selections of levelman, Rodman, 2 chairmen, and two axemen. (as wired you today) Of these, five are in N. M., and are those for whom I asked transportation, one is to meet me in Guthrie, and one in Kansas, and from whom I have received no acceptance. Have also asked a party in K. C. To furnish 3 teams.
I would have been glad, had you not asked me to look out for any of the party, but having obligated myself, I hope you will sustain me. At the same time I am very sorry, if I am the cause of anybody's disappointment.
I wrote you before that I expect to spend Monday the 31st in Topeka and be in Guthrie on the 1st. I shall make no more engagements. Please fill the balance of the party.
Very truly
F. Meredith Jones.
