Dear Sir:--
Track: Laid to Ripley-held there by bridge. Surfacing between Ripley and
Perkins very slow work, on account of every thing being frozen up and weather
exceedingly unfavorable.
Bridging: Pending receipt of long piles for Cimarron bridge. Have been
picking up all piles stored at Guthrie and moving them to Perkins and Ripley; also have
completed back driving to Ripley.
Grading: Complete to mile #59, and form that point to #64 about three
fourths completed.
Indian Allotments untouched as yet-Agent of Government has not yet been
located, although appointed and probably will be found during coming wee,.
Water Supply: Well at Iowa City 18 feet deep.
Fencing: Complete to Sand Creek.
Telegraph: Working to Ripley.
Train service: Working under disadvantage on account of lack of water. Pump
for Dug-out Creek near Perkins received, and will be set up to-morrow.
Moore's contracts complete to river, and two days lacking between Ripley and
Stillwater.
Shutt's Contract will be complete within a week.
Ware & Maney heavy fills on #59 progressing satisfactorily.
Stubbs Simply waiting a chance to work.
