Progress report June 22nd.

Eastern Oklahoma Ry.
Office of Resident Engineer
June 22, 1900
Guthrie, Oklahoma

Mr. James Dun,
Chief Engineer,
Topeka, Kans.

Dear Sir:--

The following is the situation on the E. O. Ry.

TRACK laid to Pawnee.

SURFACING completed to within one mile of Glencoe, and probably five miles in patches between that point and Pawnee.

WATER SERVICE Water stations erected complete and in use at Coyle and Ripley: temporary stations in use at Stillwater and Pawnee. Well at Pawnee down about 14 feet. No stone yet received.

BUILDINGS The station building at Glencoe is now painted and ready for occupancy. Section house and bunk house are held up at that point waiting for advice from the Superintendent, as to his need. Station at Pawnee is framed and roofed.

I have a gang of 40 men at work between Glencoe and Pawnee on the surfacing and will double that number as fast as I can obtain the men. I also have a bridge gang finishing up bridges already driven North of Stillwater.

The situation as to Howe Truss raising is as follows: The first two span on the Ripley bridge are swung off the false work and false work removed. The lower chord for the third span is being laid. The lower and upper chord for the third span is being laid. The lower and upper chords are in place on the first Stillwater crossing, and that span should be swung this week.

I also have a gang at work framing piers for the Upper Stillwater crossing, the piles for which are all driven.

I hope from this time on to be able to report more rapid progress on the Howe Trusses and think that I shall be able to do so.

INDUSTRIAL TRACKS I am grading the extension North of the stock yards, for the mill and elevator track at Stillwater.

Yours truly,

H C Phillips, Resident Engineer.
